Bond Schedule

In accordance with Ohio Revised Code sections 2937.011(I)(1), 2937.222, and 2937.23 the following bond schedule is adopted and court ordered for all traffic and criminal cases in the Washington Court House Municipal Court when the person has been arrested. All bonds shall include additional statutory fees.

***** OVI Cases- If it is a single incident that is chargeable under multiple section then bond is set for only one of those. O.V.I. – with prior in the last two years or if serious injury accident shall be held until seen by the Court - Summons should be for the next Court day

On Misdemeanor charges Personal/Own recognizance (OR) is presumed. HOWEVER, if the peace officer (based upon the circumstances and facts known at the time- see below) has reasonable cause to believe that an OR bond is insufficient, then Defendant shall be given cash or surety bond. In cases of HIGH RISK the Defendant shall be held without bond until seen by the court and the peace officers narrative shall reflect the circumstances supporting such.   • Offenses of Violence (See Below also)
  • Physical Control with prior offense or physical harm
  • History of Failing to appear, fleeing or escape
  • Poses a risk to public safety
  • An offense which is enhanced- no minor misdemeanors

2919.251 -- All Offenses of Violence must go before the Judge for bond to be set when the victim is family/household AND one of the following is present:

  • Subject of a protection order
  • Prior conviction of any offense of violence, violation of a protection order, criminal damage, criminal mischief or aggravated trespass
  • Arresting officer either a) indicated observation of physical harm b) believes defendant had a deadly weapon or dangerous ordinance at the time OR c) believes Defendant is a credible threat of serious physical harm to the victim or another
  • Summons should be for the next Court day
  1. Specific Charges Below - Must be seen by Court
    1. Murder/Homicide/Manslaughter Offenses
    2. Felonious Assault 2903.11
    3. Aggravated Assault 2903.12
    4. Assault 2903.13 - when victim is peace officer
    5. Menacing by Stalking 2903.211 - Court must determine if an evaluation under 2919.271 is needed prior to setting bond.
    6. Violating a Protection Orders 2919.27 - Court must determine if an evaluation under 2919.271 is needed prior to setting bond if one of the following apply:
      1. 2919.26 and/or 3113.31 - determination that it involves physical harm or belief will cause physical harm
      2. 2903.213, 2903.214 or another states order - determination that it involves physical harm or belief will cause physical harm
    7. No Contact Violations - as condition of prior bond or condition of probation
    8. THE FOLLOWING OFFENSES WHEN DEFENDANT WAS SUBJECT TO A PROTECTION ORDER AND/OR IT IS KNOWN TO PEACE OFFICER DEFENDANT HAD A PRIOR CONVICTION INVOLVING THE SAME VICTIM (ORC 2903.212)
      • Menacing 2903.22
      • Menacing by Stalking 2903.211
      • Aggravated Menacing 2903.21
      • Aggravated Trespass 2911.211
      • Any sexually oriented offense as defined by 2950.01

This bond schedule is effective as June 09 2026, for all cases filed in the Washington Court House Municipal Court and supersedes any and all previous bond schedules.

The following is the fine schedule for all traffic violations other than those for which the accused must appear in court. Please note that $91.00 court costs and $39.00 State costs have been added to the waiver amount. Sheriff's costs have not been included.
